Virkon merupakan High Level Surfactant Desinfektan yang bersifat Bactericidal ( termasuk MRSA, VRE, Ps.aeruginosa) , Fungsidal ( Candida, Trichophyton, dll) , Virucidal ( Hepatiti B& C, HIV ½ , SARS, Polio, Avian Flu) dan Tuberculocidal.
Virkon tidak mengandung aldehyde sehingga aman bagi operator, pasien dan lingkungan. Virkon sangat efektif untuk sterilisasi ruang di rumah sakit, puskesmas, sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya infeksi nosokomial. Dua ( 2) jam setelah aplikasi ruangan siap dipakai lagi.
